Question by ….: Was Nathaniel Bacon’s rebellion inevitable?
Answer by Ap
Due to the nature of History, nothing is ever inevitable. The word is contrary to a historian. It was not inevitable, it was evolutionary. The indentured servant’s inability to procure land created unrest, leading to the rebellion. This incident led to heightened freedom for indentured servants and an increase in reliance upon black slaves. The 1680’s marked the beginning of the abominable practice.
